CUT DOWN SATURATED FATS FROM YOUR DIET:

Some content of fat is needed our food, but it’s important to know the amount and type of fat we are eating. There are two main types of fat.

1. Saturated

2. Unsaturated

Excess of saturated fat can increase the amount of cholesterol in the blood, which increases the risk of heart disease.

Food in which saturated fat is found: Cake, biscuits,  butter, cheese, cream, etc.

Unsaturated fat: A fat that is liquid at room temperature and comes from a plant, such as olive, peanut, corn, sunflower or soybean oil. Unsaturated fat tends not to raise the level of cholesterol.

INCLUDE FISH IN YOUR MEAL:

Fish is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals; it is good for the health. Oily fish contains omega-3 fats which prevent from heart disease. Try to choose a wide variety of fish if you eat fish regularly. Remember not to eat smoked or canned fish because it is high in salt.

AMOUNT OF SALT SHOULD BE LESS IN OUR DIET:

Too much salt can prove dangerous for us. Retention and hypertension can be caused due to excess of salt. If excreted properly salty is in toxic to the health. No more than 6g of should be taken in a day to maintain the healthy and balanced diet.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER:

We need to drink plenty of fluids to stop us getting dehydrated – the doctors recommend 6-8 glasses every day.

Drink as much water as you can. It will help increase the rate of all metabolic processes in your body.

Try to avoid soft drinks and fizzy drinks that are high in sugars and calories content
